简介：
Although my background is in science, I have been preparing myself for a position teaching English overseas. In addition to completing a 120 hour TEFL course in which one of the requirements was planning and delivering a practical component to classes of Kindergarten through to Year 5, I have also been working as a teacher's assistant at a TAFE (Training and Further Education) Centre helping to improve adult non-native English speakers’ literacy and numeracy skills. I also volunteer in a primary school classroom to become more familiar with teaching methods as well as helping to deliver lessons.
Having two degrees in science and working in technical fields for most of my career, I know the importance of using effective communications between many different individuals to problem solve and achieve a common goal. Also, being married to a primary school teacher, I am familiar with the national Australian curriculum and the methods used to deliver it. I believe that my overall experience in a wide range of projects and technical disciplines would be transferable and applicable to being an teacher.
